The UARK MAST Center received 2 NSF grants for summer research this year: REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) and REM (Research Experiences with Mentoring). Each summer program chose 7 undergraduate students out of a pool of applicants who are doing summer research in UARK labs and are mentored by UARK professors. The students recently took a trip to Longview, TX to visit and tour facilities at Invista and Eastman. This is an annual trip as UARK has hosted the REU program for many years and were able to bring the REM program on for the first time this year. Both grants were awarded as a part of the MAST Center IUCRC Site Program.
